Anita Shirley Whyte, Ed.S., is a passionate literacy educator, instructional coach, and professional learning facilitator with more than 20 years of experience in elementary education — originally from Accra, Ghana, and now based in Atlanta, Georgia.
As a Literacy Instructional Coach, Anita has supported hundreds of educators through classroom coaching, professional development, and evidence-based literacy practices grounded in the Science of Reading. Her expertise spans phonemic awareness, systematic phonics, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, writing instruction, and small-group intervention. She holds an Ed.S. in Reading and has served as classroom teacher, literacy coach, LETRS coordinator, Montessori educator, and mentor to new and experienced teachers.
Through the Whyte Literacy Institute, Anita's mission is to equip educators with engaging, classroom-ready strategies that inspire lifelong readers, develop skilled writers, and transform literacy outcomes for students.
