With over 23 years in education, Anita Shirley Whyte has devoted her career to transforming how young children learn to read and write. Rooted in Montessori principles, her teaching philosophy centres the child — hands-on, intentional, and deeply human.
She has taught Pre-K through 2nd grade, and today serves as a literacy coach — leading professional learning communities, coordinating phonics and reading programmes, and mentoring teachers in the science of reading. Anita facilitates LETRS training, conducts instructional observations, and designs data-driven interventions that move every child forward.
Her passion is equity in early literacy — and her mission is to put the right tools in the hands of every teacher who stands in front of a young reader.
